Ten years after the death of Pantera and Damageplan guitarist Dimebag Darrell, Metal Hammer decided to put together an issue celebrating his life and all those influenced by him and his music. We didn't want the usual dark/sad cover that goes along with these anniversaries but a more upbeat look at an artist who created some of the most influential music of our time.

Editor at the time Alexander Milas suggested a spin on the sacred heart Elvis image which we used as our inspiration for the main image. I then art directed Magictorch to create the final artwork adding in several small details that fans could relate to. The iPad edition had an animated cover which I also art directed a company to make and this can be seen at the start of the video below.
